What is biodanza?

Biodanza is a system of self-development that uses music, movement, and positive group interactions to enhance well-being and deepen emotional connections. Originating in the 1960s by Chilean psychologist Rolando Toro, it integrates elements of dance, psychology, and human potential development.

Participants engage in guided exercises and dances that encourage self-expression and foster a sense of community. The aim of Biodanza is to promote joy, self-awareness, and a profound connection to life, helping individuals to experience greater harmony within themselves and with others.

Biodanza helps you develop a stronger connection to your body. By engaging in these dynamic and joyful dances, people often experience enhanced mood, reduced stress, and an overall sense of well-being.

It also promotes social interaction and empathy, as it encourages individuals to connect with others in a non-verbal, heartfelt way. This can lead to improved relationships and a greater sense of community.

The practice can stimulate creativity and spontaneity, allowing participants to explore and express their authentic selves in a safe and supportive environment.

Practical Information

The programme of the evening

The workshop is approximately two hours long. Initially, I will introduce what Biodanza is and how it operates. Following this, we will engage in expressive dancing and have a great time. We will then ease into a few more transformational exercises before concluding the workshop with a lively dance. Throughout the session, you will learn to harmonize your mind, feelings, and instincts. This will allow you to perceive yourself and others in a fresh, enjoyable, and relaxed manner. No dance steps will be taught, and prior dance experience is not necessary; simply let the music guide your movements!
